Sheriff Eddie Scott says the animal cruelty charge stems from deputies finding a pit bull in a cage in the back end of the truck. The dog was bleeding and had injurues consistent with dogfighting.

The dog was taken to West Point Animal Control for further treatment.

Woods remains in the Clay County Detention Center.
