Video: Arrests Made In Shooting At Tupelo Apartment Complex

TUPELO (WCBI) – Two men are charged in connection with a Thursday shooting at a Tupelo apartment complex.  32  year old Maurice Shannon and 28 year old James Garner are accused of shooting into a dwelling.

Police say the pair got into an altercation with someone at the Hilldale Apartments on Monument Street and fired rounds into a residence there.  No one was hit by the gunfire.  Shannon also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  The Hilldale incident happened about 4 hours after two bodies were found in a home on West Jackson street in Tupelo.  At that time Tupelo Police say they thought the two incidents could be connected. A police spokesman today says they could not confirm a connection between the cases at this time but adds both remain active open cases.
