Body Found In Luxapalila

COLUMBUS (WCBI) – The investigation continues into the discovery of a body in the Luxapalila this morning.

Columbus Police were called to the park around 8:00 when someone spotted the victim.   Rescuers are in the process of retrieving the body from the water. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant was called to the scene but is not releasing details on the case at this time.  Columbus Police and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s department are also coordinating which agency will be in charge of the case because the scene is very close to the city limits.   WCBI will have the latest on the discovery as it becomes available.
