AMORY, Miss. (WCBI)-All he wanted for his birthday was to ride. Robert Morgan lives at the Golden Living Center in Amory and is celebrating his 79th birthday today. Hospice Advantage in Aberdeen wanted to make his wish of riding in a law enforcement vehicle come true, so they teamed up with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department to make it happen. This afternoon, Sheriff Cecil Cantrell picked up the birthday boy and made him a deputy for the day. Morgan, who has always had a love for law enforcement, served as a crossing guard for the Saltillo schools for 25 years. Morgan also received a few official police caps.
