[bitsontherun odh7gyhM]COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) In seven days, the Federal Aviation Administration will announce which air traffic control towers will be closed.

FAA authorities released the date Friday, and Tupelo Regional Airport and Golden Triangle Regional airport are two of the 189 towers on the chopping block.

In the meantime,GTRA officials have a plan in place that will allow them to keep their towers open, for safety concerns and to accommodate 13 planes from Columbus Air Force Base. The Air Force will temporarily use GTRA, until construction on their main runway is complete.
