High Turnout Expected for Corinth Liquor Vote
CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) — Corinth officials are expecting a big turnout Tuesday for a special liquor referendum.
City officials say absentee voting has been heavy during the last three weeks, indicating a big turnout Tuesday. Voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Corinth City Hall.
Residents will decide whether to allow the sale of hard liquor in the city. Beer sales already are allowed. If approved, the City Council will decide whether to allow package stores and restaurant sales or just restaurant sales.
Supporters of the measure say liquor sales will promote economic growth in one of the region’s biggest tourism areas.
