COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) For the seventh year Main Street Columbus teamed with the Art Department at Mississippi University for Women to create the official artwork for the Market Street Festival. This year, it is a design created by Grace Steele. Steele is a senior from Blytheville, Arkansas, and has been chosen to represent the 19th annual festival through her art.
Steele chose to put a new spin of concert posters from the past.
“I want a poster that had emotion when you looked at it, that you can tell it was a festival. I immediately think of the blues, which made me think of psychedelic kind of posters. It’s where I got my inspiration, ” says MUW Sr. Grace Steele.
The 19th Annual Market Street Festival is scheduled for May 2nd and 3rd in 2014.
