Video: Area Airports Land Federal Grants

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Airports in Gulfport, Starkville and Kosciusko are sharing in nearly $4.8 million in grants from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The grants were announced Thursday by U.S. Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, both R-Mississippi. The grants came from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport received $3.4 million for noise mitigation measures for residences around the airport.

The Kosciusko-Attala County Airport will receive $760,710 to be directed toward runway rehabilitation.

Starkville’s George M. Bryan Airport will receive $680,974 to improve the runway safety area.
