COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The city of Columbus has a new municipal judge and budget for the next fiscal year.

Councilmen quickly approved the 2015-2016 budget Tuesday evening, which totals more than $24 million.

It includes a three percent pay raise for city workers, and has no tax increase.

City leaders also voted in Gary Goodwin as the new municipal judge.

Former judge Nicole Clinkscales stepped down in July to run for the open House District 41 seat.

Marc Amos serves as the city’s other judge.
