Video: Columbus Police Looking For Suspected Shooter

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police are looking for a person of interest in a Thursday night shooting that left a man injured.

Interim police chief Fred Shelton tells WCBI the victim apparently knows the suspected shooter. The department is not releasing any names right now.

The incident happened shortly before 8:00pm Thursday night. The victim says he was walking near his vehicle in the area of McCrary Road in East Columbus when someone drove up and began shooting at his vehicle and him.

He was struck in the back and taken to Baptist Golden Triangle in a private vehicle. He was treated and released.

Meanwhile, police are looking for a silver Charger and a burgandy SUV, both believed to be involved in the shooting.
