Deakle Leaves Position as ICDC, Port Director

FULTON, Miss. (AP) — Itawamba County is looking for someone to be executive director of the Itawamba County Development Council and director of the county port.

Greg Deakle had served both positions since late 2007.

A local newspaper reports Deakle left this past week to become director of Port and Waterway Intermodal Operations with Kentucky-based company R.J. Corman Railroad Group. He will oversee operations at several distribution centers in multiple states.

Former ICDC executive director Harvey Clements has stepped in to fill the vacant position while the ICDC Board of Directors searches for a replacement for Deakle.
