Fatal Crash in Pontotoc

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) — One man has died after a crash in Pontotoc County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says it happened around 9:30 Saturday morning on US 278 near Rogers Furniture.

MHP says a 2010 Chevy Silverado was traveling west bound and collided into the rear of an Amish Buggy.

Three people were in the buggy, 26-year old Joseph Hostetler, his wife, 23- year old Emma Hostetler and their two year old son, all from Randolph.

Joseph was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center, he was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.

Emma was taken by ambulance to NMMC, she remains in the hospital with serious injuries.

Their son was airlifted to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital with series injuries.

The driver of the pick up, was uninjured.

The horse, pulling the buggy also died at the scene.

MHP is still investigating.
