Garage, Boathouse Damaged in Lee Co. Fire

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Firefighters in Lee County were able to save a home after an early morning blaze damaged some buildings nearby it.

Mooreville-Eggville volunteer firefighters tell WCBI they were called out to a home on Little Turkey Trail in the Lake Piomingo area around 5:30 a.m., Friday.

A fire at a garage broke out near the home. It destroyed the cars inside of it, and damaged a boathouse.

Firefighters got to the scene in enough time to keep the fire from impacting the home. It only did some damage to the porch area.

They’re still looking into what caused the blaze, which was out within 30 minutes.

No one was injured.
