Grenada Toddler Dies, Parents Arrested On Abuse Charges

GRENADA, Miss. (WCBI) – A three year-old Grenada child died after police found burns and bruises on its body.

Now, its mother and step-father are in jail on abuse charges.

The Grenada Star reports about 8:30 P.M. on December 24th police received a call about a child not breathing. The unidentified toddler later died at a Jackson hospital.

Investigators told the newspaper two other children in the home were abused.

The unidentified parents are charged with three counts of child abuse and child neglect.

Other charges are expected after an autopsy is performed.
