Video: Head-On Collision In Lowndes County Sends Three To Hospital

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – MHP responded to a two vehicle MVA on MS 69 around 12:21 PM Thursday afternoon, near Colony Drive.

A gray 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling south on MS 69. A white, 1996 Ford TA9 tractor pulling and empty log trailer was traveling north on MS 69.

The Ford crossed the center line,  traveled into the southbound lane of traffic and collided head-on with the Dodge Ram.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, 73 year old Johnny Partridge of Columbus sustained moderate injuries and was transported to BMH. Mr. Partridge was wearing his seatbelt.

The driver of the Ford, 37 year old Terry Shoopman of Michigan City, Indiana sustained minor injuries. The Passenger, Ricky Lewis of Covington Kentucky sustained moderate injuries.

Both the driver and the passenger were transported to BMH.

Mr. Shoopman and his passenger were wearing their seatbelts.

The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
