Lowndes Co. Grand Jury Hands Down Sex Crime Indictments

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI-TV) — Two people are indicted by a Lowndes County grand jury for child sex crimes.

72 year old Tony Springer Sr. was indicted on statutory rape and touching of a child for lustful purposes charges.

Investigators did not release many details about his arrest last November.

The indictment alleges Springer had sex with a child under the age of 14 in February of 2015.

It also accuses Springer of touching the same child last year.

Springer’s bond was set at 15 thousand dollars.

Amber Self

In an unrelated case, Amber Self was indicted on the charge of exploitation of a child.

Prosecutors accuse Self of trying to lure a teenage boy to meet for sexually related conduct.

A parent filed the complaint with Lowndes County deputies.

Self’s bond was set at 15 thousand dollars.
