New Director Of Development At MUW

COLUMBUS, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – Alumna Angela Ferraez has been named director of Development for Mississippi University for Women.

Ferraez served as director of Major Gifts and Special Events at The W since 2011.

While in the position, she worked with numerous donors to develop relationships and created new scholarship opportunities to increase enrollment and attract quality students to The W.

“I am very excited about this position because I love The W. This is my school, and it is a pleasure for me to be in a position to tell The W story and to have a small part in advancing this great institution with such a rich history and a bright future,” said Ferraez.

Among her other accomplishments, Ferraez has partnered with organizations such as Main Street Columbus to increase community engagement at annual events like the Welty Gala and Wassail at The W.

In her new position, Ferraez will work to foster relationships in the alumni base and the community.

Ferraez hopes to engage faculty and staff to invest in the success of the university.

“I would like to see a significant increase in not just donors, but in those who can see the vision that has been put forth by Dr. [Jim] Borsig and the campus leadership and commit to be a part of making that vision a reality,” stated Ferraez.

Ferraez holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from The W.

Prior to joining The W’s staff, she worked as a marketing and public relations specialist for BTM Solutions in Columbus.

Ferraez has owned several businesses in the Columbus area and has served on the Link’s Small Business Committee and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Main Street Columbus.
