Video: New Hope Hosts Veterans Day Program

NEW HOPE, Miss. (WCBI) — The New Hope community came together to say ‘thank you’ to local veterans.

New Hope Elementary School hosted a veterans program Wednesday morning.

Nearly 60 local veterans were in attendance.

The students from each grade performed a patriotic song.

Local vets say they are honored to see all the support on this day.

“Veterans Day is a great time to honor all veterans. For many years, the general public didn’t recognize veterans much. So, its nice now that we have so many people that’s honoring the veterans and it’s a good thing for the country,” said Air Force veteran, Howard Jenkins.

The Columbus Air Force Base also brought in a guest speaker for the program.
