No Damage From Quake Near Aliceville
ALICEVILLE, Ala. (AP) – A small earthquake has rattled western Alabama for the third time in as many months.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a magnitude 2.7 earthquake occurred about 10 miles southeast of Aliceville around 4 a.m. Thursday.
No damage is being reported, and the agency says it’s unclear exactly how deep the quake happened under the Earth’s surface.
Small quakes occurred in November and December in neighboring Greene County. Those earthquakes happened just a few miles from the one reported Thursday.
