Oxford Police Investigate Robbery, Make Assault Arrest

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — Oxford Police are investigating the late-night armed robbery of a local hotel.

Police say that at about 10:38 p.m. Tuesday, two suspects, one of whom was armed, entered the Hampton Inn on Ed Perry Boulevard, and took about $300 from the cash drawer.

No description or suspect information has been provided.

In an unrelated case, 24-year-old Margaret Williams of Oxford has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault for trying to run over two people Monday.

Police say that on July 7, officers responded to 1903 Jackson Ave West, The Brittany Store, in reference to a wreck. Once on scene, officers discovered a disturbance occurred and that Williams attempted to run over the driver and passenger of the other vehicle.
Her bond is set at $10,000.
