Shannon Woman Heading For Federal Prison

OXFORD, MS (WCBI) – A Shannon woman will do 41 months in federal prison for fraud.   50 year old Veronica Rice pleaded guilty to selling ads in a non existent military magazine.  Rice bilked businesses across the country by claiming she was selling an area guidebook to be given to military members at bases near the victims location.  Rice must also serve 3 year’s probation and pay back more than 164 thousand dollars in restitution.
