Sheriff: Man Shot In Winston County Love Triangle

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A love triangle turns into a gunfight in Winston County.

Now, the accused shooter is free on bond and another man is in the hospital.

Winston County Sheriff Jason Pugh says William Daniel Ettinger of Vicksburg went to a home on Hayes Road on New Year’s Day morning.

Pugh says Ettinger went there to get his check book and a debit card.

The Vicksburg man is accused of kicking a woman’s down a door and getting into an argument with Derick Loving.

Pugh says Ettinger and Loving then shot at each other.

Loving was wounded.

Ettinger is now charged with aggravated assault and breaking and entering.

Pugh says other charges are possible.

The incident remains under investigation.
