Two Brothers Injured In Calhoun County Crash

VARDAMAN, Miss. (WCBI) – Two brothers were airlifted to a Tupelo hospital after their truck crashed into an 18 wheeler on Wednesday evening.

It happened on Highway 8, near Vardaman, about 5 PM.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Master Sergeant Criss Turnipseed tells WCBI Joseph, 30, and Sidney, 27, Alford were seriously injured.

Joseph Alford was driving when their truck rear-ended a big rig carrying sweet potatoes.

The 18 wheeler was attempting to turn when the crash happened.

State troopers continue to investigate the crash.
