Video: Alleged Hit and Run Turns Fatal

COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI/ PRESS RELEASE) At 8:58 pm this evening, Columbus Police Officers responded to the area of 7th Avenue North and 17th Street North in reference to a hit and run fatality.

The victim is a 50 year old black female whose identity is not being released at this time. The case is currently under investigation.

Coroner Greg Merchant was on the scene, but said he would release more information Saturday morning. Columbus Police were also on the scene looking for clues as to what exactly has happened here.
