TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Candidates who will be on the November ballot in Lee County had a chance to visit with voters Friday morning.

A breakfast called “Wake Up Tupelo and Lee County” took place at the Elvis Presley Birthplace. The CDF sponsored event also featured a “hob nob” with candidates for a variety of offices.

Organizers say it is a way for voters to make informed decisions about issues that impact economic development in the area and throughout the state.

“The candidates are now six weeks from the election here in Mississippi. People are beginning to make up their mind, they are at least making some evaluations. This gives them a chance to get, literally up close and personal, get to meet them, talk a little about what they think, their philosophy, we have an exciting year coming into view here in 2016.”

The general election takes place November Third.
