BROOKSVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Area farmers had a chance to catch up on some of the latest trends today in Brooksville. Experts and producers met at the Black Belt Experiment Station for a Field Day and Tour

Of particular interest as we hit the driest part of Summer were irrigation management and water storage systems. The field day included a tour of a local farm in Noxubee County and the Bogue Chitto Cotton Gin.

“Today we wanted our society to see what’s happening in Noxubee County. What Noxubee County is doing and not only looking at the farmers, but looking at the experiment station because there is a lot of research going on there and wanted our people to see what was happening at East Mississippi.”

In-service training and education units were also offered for certified crop advisers.
