Video: Main Street Columbus Presents Annual Awards

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – For many Mississippi towns, Main Street is the “heart of the city”.

On Thursday, Main Street Columbus recognized the folks that keep that heart beating.

Business owners, volunteers, and State and local Main Street officials were on hand for the annual awards ceremony.

The Main Street Design Committee took home top honors in the Service category.

Ann Davis was recognized for her work with the Renovation Award, and the City and County shared the design awards with the Tenn -Tom Waterway Museum.

Main Street Director Barbara Bigelow was quick to thank all those that make the group so successful.

“Our members are so important to us at Main street. We are membership based, and without them we could not function throughout the year. We have many supporters, many sponsors, and many volunteers as well, and we just honor those people this evening.”

Main Street is busy gearing up for the Market Street Festival – the first weekend in May..
