Video: Need Up – Donations Down at Lowndes County Community Outreach Organizations

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Groups that help those in need are finding themselves in need of some extra help this Summer. Helping Hands and United Way of Lowndes County are looking for help in both money and manpower.

Neither organization has seen the donation increases experienced in other parts of the country, and are asking for your help.

“Donations for financial are really probably our biggest need only because we see so many people that need financial assistance. The food donations this year have been wonderful. Usually this time of year our shelves are pretty much empty”

“Of course the AP Newswire told us that there is giving increase across the country in charitable giving, but we haven’t felt it yet quite right here in Lowndes County, but I’m looking forward to this year’s campaign.”
