MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY, Miss. (WCBI) -Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann spoke at today’s Presidents’ Summit on Community Engagement on the MSU Campus.

It’s all about building alliances at a state, regional and community level. Those alliances help promote philanthropic efforts.

Hosemann talked with attendees about non-profit status.

Overseeing charities is just one role of the Secretary of State. But the office and it’s chief officer is best know for managing state elections.

“They went really smooth actually. We had a lower turnout that I would have liked. We had a little over 30 percent vote, about 275,000 in each of the primary Republican and Democratic primary. But we would have liked to have more people go vote for governor, attorney general or what ever. ”

The Presidential Summit is sponsored by MSU and Mississippi University for Women.
