COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus teenager is in jail charged as an adult after police say he fired a shot from outside the Lowndes County Juvenile Detention Center.

17 year old Kobe Barker is charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling. His bond is set at $250,000.00.

The investigation began this past Saturday when a juvenile detained at the detention center on College Street reported that two juveniles pointed at gun at him from a outside window at the facility. Police never tracked them down.

The detained juvenile reported later that one of the boys returned around 11 o’clock that night, this time firing a shot from outside the window.

Barker was arrested Tuesday. This case is still under investigation.
