Voters to Decide Mayor, Aldermen Seats in Runoff

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)- Aberdeen residents will have the final say in who will lead their city for the next four years.

In Tuesday’s runoff election voters will elect the next mayor, as well as fill four other aldermen seats.

In the Mayor’s race, outgoing Ward 5 Alderman John Allen faces Maurice Howard. Lady B. Garth and Doug Stone are in the running for Ward 2. Edward Haynes Jr. and David Ewing Jr. will face off for the Ward 3 seat.

In the Ward 4 race, Dean Irvin and Brunson Odom are vying for the seat. In Ward 5, Jim Buffington will face Willie Cook Sr.

The polls close at 7 P.M. Voters must bring a government issued ID card.

Ward 1, Aberdeen Housing Authority

Ward 2, Monroe County Circuit Courthouse

Ward 3, City Hall

Ward 4, New National Guard Armory

Ward 5, High Street Community Center.
