Woman Charged in $38,000 Embezzlement

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Lowndes County woman is arrested for stealing $38,000 from her former employer.

Sandra Ward, 46, is free on $2,500 bond. Lowndes County investigators say she has paid back a significant portion of the money she’s accused of taking from Alarm One.

Investigators say the company reported the missing funds in February and Ward was terminated in mid-March.

It took detectives until recently to sort through all the company accounts to build the case.

Ward is accused of using Alarm One’s checking and other accounts for her benefit.
