(STARKVILLE, Ms.) (WCBI) – Mississippi State will open its 2013 NCAA Regional against Central Arkansas Friday. The University of South Alabama will play Mercer University in the other opening round game. The Starkville regional winner will face the winner of the Charlottesville,Virginia regional. Virginia, Army, Elon and North Carolina Wilmington make up the four teams in that regional. Mercer and South Alabama open play at 2:00 Friday with MSU and Central Arkansas set for first pitch at 7:00 Friday evening.
Ole Miss will start its tourney run at Raleigh, North Carolina against William & Mary. North Carolina State faces Binghamton in the other first round game in Raleigh. The Raleigh regional is paired with the Eugene Oregon regional. That means the winner in Raleigh faces the survivor of Oregon, South Dakota State, San Franciso and Rice.
Alabama travels to Tallahassee, Florida for its opening round game against Troy. Florida State and Savannah State round out that regional. The winner of the Tallahassee regional plays the winner of the Bloomington Regional. Indiana, Valparaiso, Austin Peay and Florida make up that region.
