Plantersville Remembers Long Time Civic Leader

PLANTERSVILLE ( WCBI) – One of Plantersville’s most visible and vocal backers has passed away.

Jack Wuichet died Monday after an extended illness.  Wuichet served on the Board of Aldermen for 16 years but is best remembered for his efforts to restore the town park. That effort led city leaders to name the park Grant- Wuichet Park.  The Monroe, Louisiana native had a unique method of helping make improvements to his adopted hometown by collecting aluminum cans and using all the proceeds to pay for projects.   Services are set for 11:00 Thursday at Holland Funeral Directors Tupelo Chapel.  Wuichet was 84 years old
