School District Is Looking Into Controversial Online Post From Area Teacher

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Superintendent Lewis Holloway told WCBI that the district is looking into complaints against a teacher.

Concerned parents pointed out a Facebook post from the account of Connie Shannon Barber. More than 100 Facebook users have shared various versions of the post as of Monday afternoon. Here’s a screenshot:

11-14-fb-postThe elementary teacher allegedly posted this one day after the presidential election. In the post, she shared a Fox News story and above it wrote:

“Now you know how we felt 8 years ago.”

And: “The White House needs a good Clorox scrubbing.”

The Facebook account is no longer public.

The social media policy of the school district is available on its website.
