STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Hundreds of volunteers took part in Starkville’s 9th annual “Get Swept Up” community cleaning effort Wednesday. Thousands of visitors will be in town this Saturday, when the MSU Bulldogs host Jackson State to start their football season.

Work started at seven a.m. and lasted until noon.

Volunteers picked up trash, weeded and even trimmed shrubs.

Participants received a t-shirts and water bottles.
