TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Tupelo area residents have a chance to cast ballots for their favorite short film, as part of a worldwide entertainment event. On Thursday evening, Tupelo’s Malco Theater will host the Manhattan Film Festival. Viewers will be given ballots and they will select their favorite film from ten selections. Those votes will be tabulated with others seeing the same films at locations worldwide. Organizers say it’s a rare chance for local independent film fans to be part of an unique event.
“Yeah, that’s kind of rare, but it , you have to think about the audience. The audience will be part of all the audiences all over the world that are showing those ten films that one week,” said Pat Rasberry, of the Tupelo Film Commission.
It all happens Thursday at 7 at Tupelo’s Malco Theatre. For more information go to www.tupelo.net.
