COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Farmer’s Market Season maybe over, but The Hitching Lot Farmer’s Market was filled to the brim this morning.

The 4 Walls Project is an organization that’s new to Columbus.

Their goal is to provide shelters for families in need, assist mothers in receiving their education, and actively combating homelessness in the state- with a focus on the Golden Triangle.

Saturday morning’s yard sale was to bring awareness to the gowning issue of homelessness that event organizer Anne Freeze says many don’t know is a problem in our area.

“When you live in a large city your use to seeing people maybe on the street or sleeping under bridges and in Columbus we do have a lot of homeless people they may no be out in the open but there are people who don’t have a place to call their own,” said 4 Walls Golden Triangle Coalition board member Anne Freeze.

In The Future the organization is looking to build their own apartment complex for the homeless.
