VIDEO: Local Group Pushes Community To Register To Vote

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI)- National voter registration day is two days away. But, in West Point they are getting a jump start.

All thanks to members of the Columbus Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

The fraternity along with members of the organization’s youth Guide Right program spent about four hours Sunday afternoon at the Northside Christian Church urging those who’ve not yet registered, to register to vote.

“We find it important not only that we register to vote but also we teach our young folks the importance and educate them and mentor them on the importance of voter registration and voting,” says Guide Right adviser, Vincent Jones.

Kappa Alpha Psi’s Guide Right is a program for designed to instill leadership in youth and encourage academic excellence and college attendance.
