Officials with 4-County Electric tell us an electric pole caught fire around 3p.m. Sunday.
Crews had to take the line out of service in order to repair it.
The outage lasted for nearly 6 hours.
“It could have been anything from lightning early this morning or lightning causing our equipment to fail, it happens. Sometimes it’s rare but we try to catch it before it gets bad,” said 4-County Electric employee Jonathan Tuggle.
The outage affected people living around Highway 373 and 50.
