Video: Lowndes County School District Awards Leaders In Education

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lowndes County School District was handing out a little holiday hardware.

At Friday’s school board meeting, members recognized the teacher and administrator of the year.

Both winners work at Caledonia Elementary.

Special Education Teacher Leah Mullins won teacher of the year, and Principal Roger Hill won for administrator.

This is Hill’s ninth time to receive the award.

“Great teachers, great non-certified staff like secretaries, those type of people, they’re great. They really work hard, and I mean, what have I done? I get recognized, but they do all of the hard work,” says Hill.

Hill says he was surprised to receive the honor this year.

2013 was the last time he took home the award.
