TUPELO, Miss. – (WCBI) Tupelo remembered Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through entertainment Friday night.

The Civic Auditorium was the site of “Apollo Night: Where Stars are Born and Legends are Made,” sponsored by Tupelo 2000 and AT&T.

It featured talent and drama from across the area. Participants sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” the National Negro Hymn.

More festivities will be held tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday, the official MLK holiday.
