Video: Plans, Theme, Unveiled For Largest Christmas Parade In N.E. Mississippi

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – The largest Christmas parade in Northeast Mississippi announces its theme, Grand Marshal and other details.

The theme for the 68th annual “Reed’s Christmas Parade” will be “Miracle on Main Street.”

That theme recognizes the transformation that has taken place over the past few years in downtown Tupelo.

Also, the Grand Marshal is director of the Downtown Main Street Association, Debbie Brangenberg, who plans on sharing the honor with many others.

“I would like to invite all the businesses and all the volunteers who have helped us through the twenty five years I’ve been here to join me as Grand Marshals of the parade,” Brangenberg said.
“It’s probably the best family event in Tupelo every year.  You see people, grandparents, grandchildren, parents, you just see happy people along the parade route. You have so many volunteers who work on these floats and play in bands,” said Jack Reed Jr., president of Reed’s Department Store.

The parade is set for Friday, December the second at 7 pm.  For more information, call DTMSA at 662 841 6598.
