COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — More than 170 racers of all ages put their bodies to the test, to compete in the third annual Possum Town Triathlon.

The course consisted of a 600-yard swim, a 17-mile bike ride and a 3.3 mile run.

Awards for the top male and female in each age group was handed out to racers.

Several volunteers from the Downtown Columbus YMCA made sure competitors stayed hydrated throughout the course.

The race took place near the Columbus Lock and Dam.
