Video: SPD STATION RENOVATION BIDS APPROVED

STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)— The Starkville police station renovations are officially underway.The Board of Aldermen held their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night and on the agenda were the bids for the Starkville police station. During the meeting the 5.4 million dollar bid was approved with $4,478,00 of the bid going to Weathers Construction Company for the renovations. Starkville Police Chief Frank Nichols says it’s been a long time coming but he is happy the project is under way.

Police Chief Frank Nichols says, ” As The police Force we feel relieved yet honored to be moving forward. I’ve been here for 25 years and for at least 20 of those we’ve been trying to get a new location in our new building. so to finally move forward with that renovation. We are honored that the citizens supported us on this.”

The Starkville police force is still split into 6 different locations throughout the community.
