Video: Text Message Scandal Continues to Haunt Superintendent

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –There are new allegations in a sexually explicit text message scandal involving Columbus Schools Superintendent Dr. Phillip Hickman.

In a Commercial Dispatch report a man identifying himself as LaVuntae’ Lashley says he and Hickman exchanged the text messages.

WCBI independently called Lashley. He tells us that he and Hickman had “hooked-up” at the Columbus Municipal School District office in Columbus.

Lashley also told WCBI today that he met Hickman while the superintendent was on school district trips in Washington D.C. and in Dallas and “hooked-up.”

In April when the text messages first surfaced, Hickman released a statement saying someone was trying to ruin his reputation through quote… Fabricated text messages. End quote.

At Friday’s meeting, the school board went into executive session with Hickman but he did not return to the meeting or make himself available for an interview.
