West Point Police Capture One Accused Of Armed Robbery, Searching For Another

WEST POINT, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) –  On October 23rd at 6:20am West Point police officers were dispatched to the Little Rascals (Exxon) convenience store at 717 W. Main Street in reference to a robbery. E911 advised officers to be on the lookout (BOLO) for 2 black males. One was wearing a dark colored floppy hat. Both men were wearing jackets but neither had on a mask. One of the suspects was further described as wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt, red shoes and a blue jacket.

The store clerk told officers that the two men came into the store soon after she opened for business. In the process of making a routine purchase the cashier opened the cash draw and one of them displayed a silver handgun and demanded cash. They both fled west on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and the cashier’s personal wallet.

Shortly after the call was dispatched, officer’s, while canvassing the area and talking with residents, were able to focus on a suspicious vehicle that was seen in the area. The vehicle was located and officers detained a suspect who was later charged with the crime. Taken into custody was 25 year old Nolli Hediria Neal of 503 Black Diamond Road, Memphis.

Mr. Neal has been charged with armed robbery and is currently being held in the Clay County Detention Center. He was arraigned this morning in the West Point Municipal Court. His bond was set at $125,000. Police are looking for at least one other suspect in connection with this case and are following up on multiple leads.

Chief Tim Brinkley states, “The quick response of officers but more importantly the willingness of area residents to share information with officers led to a quick arrest in this case. This exemplifies the effectiveness of police services when the community is fully involved”.

Some evidence was collected in close proximity of the store and surveillance video is being reviewed at the scene. This incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers or the West Point Police Department at 494-1244.
