Columbus Teachers Get Ecolab Grants

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Seven Stokes-Beard Technology and Communication Magnet Elementary School teachers have received 2013 Ecolab Foundation Visions for Learning grants.

These educators’ innovative proposals were selected for funding by Ecolab’s grant committee.

Since 1986, Ecolab’s signature Visions for Learning program has provided curriculum-enhancing materials for teachers and their classrooms in communities across the U.S. These materials help teachers augment classroom curriculum to increase understanding of academic content, raise student achievement and emphasize the connection between school and life.

The 2013 Ecolab Foundation Visions for Learning grant recipients in Columbus are:

– Rosalyn Hodge and Breann Taylor, $2,984 for the Summer Reading project;

– Emma Cornwall and Talecia Scott, $2,999 for the Lego Mindstorms project;

– Kala Fowler, $1,175 for Multimedia/Classroom Library Center project;

– Gwendolyn Latham and Ruby Brenner, $3,000 for Missoula Theater project.

Each recipient will be recognized by Ecolab at the CMSD Retirement & Special Recognition Reception on May 22, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at the Brandon Central Services office.
