CPD Nets Two Arrests
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Two separate cases in Columbus have yielded two arrests.
At about 11:08 p.m. July 10, Columbus Police Department officers responded to 1923 Old Aberdeen Rd. in reference to a possible disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, deputies were told by the victim of an assault 28-year-old Brent Davidson pushed her down and proceeded to choke her.
Davidson was immediately arrested on charges of domestic aggravated assault. His bond was set at $7,500 with a preliminary hearing slated for Sept. 18.
In a separate case dating back to July 1, CPD officers had a troublemaker on their hands.
At approximately 2:26 a.m., police responded to 208 N. McCrary Rd. in reference to an activated alarm of a business.
After viewing surveillance footage, officers arrested 37-year-old Heather Lynn Nichols July 12 on one count of burglary of a business.
It is not known what Nichols allegedly stole from the business.
Nichols bond was set at $2,500; a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 18.
