TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — A national women’s clothing store makes Christmas a little brighter for some special kids and their mothers.

This morning, David Dyer, the president and CEO of Chico’s, made a trip to the store at the Mall at Barnes Crossing.

Dyer met with several current and former patients of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, along with their mothers.

Chico’s has donated more than $2 million to the Children’s Miracle Network through sales of teddy bears.

Mothers received gift cards for the store and children took home a teddy bear and candy.

“Chico’s has always been a company that has given back,” Dyer said. “We have done that since the very beginning, it’s part of our culture, it’s part of our DNA.”

“The staff at LeBonheur, the people we’ve met from Chico’s, the fact they care about individual cases like Kenzie. And it’s not just a big lump sum of kids, but they really do care about these individual scenarios.”

Chico’s is one of the newest stores in the Mall at Barnes Crossing.
